About RGUKT
The Vision
Established in the year 2008 by the erstwhile Government of Andhra Pradesh. RGUKT provides an ambience of excellence for the pursuit of knowledge leading to B.Tech degrees in different branches of Technology. The students are admitted after their class X and earn their B.Tech degrees in six years. The first two years provides a strong foundation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Telugu, essential to take up a modern four year engineering degree curriculum that follows.
About 85% of the students of RGUKT are gifted children from rural State of Telangana, who may otherwise be deprived of opportunities for high quality technological education, food and other amenities. The students are admitted in the merit order of their performance in class X with a reservation given for rural students and mostly from meritorious top 1 percent of graduates from rural high school of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Campus is residential and cater to the all-round development of the students in a healthy ambience. The academic programmer is rigorous. The University has well planned designed and built infrastructure in the campus. RGUKT has developed modern laboratory facilities in the campus for all discipline of Engineering with latest and advanced equipment to expose students to these equipment and gain best practical knowledge in their respective disciplines. Basar campus is almost on the banks of the river Godavari. The temple of Goddess Saraswati (GnanaSaraswati, goddess of knowledge and learning), one of the famous Saraswati temples in India.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies Basar is a unique university which uses Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and it is the first of its kind in the country. Established by Government of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh vide Act 18 of 2008 (now adopted by Govt. of Telangana State, vide G.O. MS. No. 29, dated 17/12/2014), this campus is almost on the banks of the river Godavari and is the abode of Gnyana Saraswathi, the Goddess of Knowledge. RGUKT is thus in the right location for the pursuit of learning under the gracious blessings of the divine; it has therefore gained instant fame and success. It covers a total of 272 acres for its Academic infrastructure, Sports activities and for the accommodation of students and staff, etc…
Message from the Training and Placement Officer
The Training & Placement Office (TPO) establishes the vital link between students and prospective employers to facilitate training and placement of students. The prime strengths of the institute are the highly competent students, dedicated and research oriented faculty, staff and the state of the art infrastructure.
Within short span of time, RGUKT has proved its mettle and has set itself apart as an institute of repute in Telangana region. The flexible, wide and dynamic curriculum has led to the development of various branches of technology. Apart from regular courses, students are also engaged in various cultural, technical, sports and literary activities throughout the year.
We work relentlessly to ensure job placements for our students and provide them with top career opportunities. Various renowned organizations like, Infosys, IBM, TATA Motors, Wipro, Thought Works, Efftronics, Osmosys, BOSCH, ITC only to name a few, have successfully recruited our students over the last three years. The task of the placement office is to facilitating the placement process and serves as the interface between the students and the corporate world.
Our challenge from Training and placement cell is to produce industry ready people who are professionally competent engineers by providing value-based and quality education to students and to make them adaptable to ever changing demands and requirements of the world.

Placement Coordinator
RGUKT, Basar University has a centre for conducting students Placements and Internship activities from time to time providing quality training and industrial exposure to students from the Training and Placement cell. One of the major contributions of our cell is to provide students in obtaining internships and placements opportunities in reputed companies across the global.
We also provide them assistance in moving forward to government sectors and higher studies. Our cell also offers special training programs to improve their communication skills and technical skills. Our students have actively participated in various coding content and industrial training programs and secured internship opportunities in both academia and industry. We do conduct several motivational lectures to students and enhance skills by inviting eminent speakers from industry and academia. Our University has a record of higher number of placements in On Campus recruitment drives.

The primary objective of establishing RGUKT was to provide high quality educational opportunities for the aimed rural youth of the state. The initial goal was that at least the top 1 % of the rural graduates would be given the opportunity to study at RGUKT.
RGUKT Academic Block 2
It has been observed that, on an average, the marks obtained by the students in rural India are about 10-20% lower than the marks of students studying in private schools of urban India. As a result, most of the seats for higher education gets filled by students from these private schools when the basis of selection is the marks obtained. Even if a rural student is capable, the educational system doesn't allow him to go ahead. The goal of RGUKT is to help remedy this unfortunate situation. This is overcome by adding deprivation score of 0.4 to the 10th class GPA applicants from non-residential Government Schools including Zillaparishad and Municipal Schools.
Having an objective to provide high quality Engineering Education to the rural meritorious youth of Telangana State who are social and economically backward, the University is now a home to 135 faculty members, 120 non - teaching staff and 60 out sourcing staff. The university comprises of three Academic blocks with more than 120 ICT equipped class rooms, well – equipped laboratories, two well furnished libraries with more than 7,00,000 volumes, three boys’ hostels and three girls’ hostels and three messes to provide the quality and nutritious food.
RGUKT Overview
It has now become a university of great reputation in Telangana State (and in India as well) as the number of students placed in various companies, Government services and public sector units is second to none. Many students have participated in various academic activities conducted by NASA, ISRO etc.
Once a student is admitted in the 6-year Integrated programme comprises of 2-Year Pre-University Course and 4-Year B.Tech Course, the University takes the full responsibility of his/her all – round development viz. academic, technical and cognitive development as well and prepares him/her to meet the challenges of his/her future endeavors.
