Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Basar is unique university which actively uses Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching. It is perhaps the first of its kind in the country with an educational model that is intensely ICT based. Established by the Goverment of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh vide a special act of legislation, this campus is loacated at the holy land of Basar (the abode of Gnyana Saraswathi, Goddess of knowledge) in Nirmal District (Telangana State). The campus is set in about 272 acres of salubrious and serene surrounding just a short distance from the banks of river Godavari. The primary objective of establishing RGUKT is to provide high quality educational opportunities for the rural youth of the state.​

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) Basar, MHRD, GoI is pleased to announce the Faculty Development Programme (FDP), 2018. It aimed at enhancing faculty capabilities, to promote resilient rural India through curriculum accreditation, research and interventions as well as curriculum design, development and promotion for higher education programmes offered by Universities and Autonomous Institutions in India. NCRI seeks to strengthen the rural higher education curriculum and the faculty members transacting it. The programme is managed by a mix of faculty from RGU as well as resource person from other regional institutions. The programme duration is from 25th to 31st March 2018.

Objective of Faculty Development Program:
Due to curriculum interventions of NCRI several State and Central universities have designed and developed courses/papers on rural community engagement particularly in selected streams like Education, Mass Communication, Social Work and other related areas of rural studies. The duration of these courses/papers varies from six months to two years. As these courses are newly introduced, their transaction requires capacity building of the faculty concerned. It is in this context that the faculty development programme has been proposed to include both class room training and field exposure.

Teaching and Learning Components of one week Faculty Development Programme: Duration of the programme: 25th to 31st  March 2018; Out of seven days four days would devote to class room training and three days for field attachment.
