RGUKT Basar Hosts Internal Smart India Hackathon
RGUKT Basar is renowned for nurturing talented individuals. The Computer Science Department conducted an Internal Smart India Hackathon on the 19th and 20th. The Internal Hackathon is part of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), a flagship initiative by the Government of India aimed at fostering a culture of problem-solving and innovation among students across the country. Launched in 2017 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), SIH has evolved into the world's largest digital product development competition.
As part of the event, Vice-Chancellor A. Govardhan spoke, stating that such programs are extremely useful for students to showcase their talent. On the 19th, students worked from 5 PM to 12 midnight with faculty assistance to build prototypes for problem statements. Around 40 teams, comprising 240 students, participated in the event. On the 20th, students presented their solutions and prototypes to faculty jury members including Dr. Tippi Reddy, Rakesh Reddy, G. Srijana, G. Ranjit Kumar, Dr. V.S.S.K.R. Naganjaneyulu Gudapati, Dilbar Ali, Dr. N. Vijay Kumar, and Somanath. The event was coordinated by Faculty Coordinator Sujoy Sarkar.
The jury members evaluated the students' solutions and awarded marks. As part of the Engineers' Day celebrations on the same day, certificates were awarded to the top five teams. The jury members and Associate Dean Dr. Mahesh encouraged students to take a leading role in participating in such events.
